Match Preview: United Services v Baffins

Baffins are on the road on Saturday with a trip to United Services for their fifth away fixture in a row.
And in their last clash, Danny Thompson’s side broke a club record with an 8-0 thumping over Christchurch at Hurn Bridge.
Danny Burroughs, Kelvin Robinson, Harvey Wellham, Dillon North and Tyrhys Lukonyomoi all struck in Baffins’ biggest-ever victory on the road at step-five level.
That match saw a return to winning ways after successive defeats followed the best of three triumph at Fareham in late November.
Rovers travel to Victory Stadium looking to record back-to-back victories and Saturday’s opponents sit fourth from bottom but they are eleven points clear of Lymington Town, who are still winless from their opening 19 matches.
And United Services will be aiming to secure their first three points since 21 October when Andover New Street fell to a 3-1 defeat against Fraser Quirke’s side.
USP are currently on a five-match streak without a Wessex Premier Division point, only scoring one goal in the process at Victory Stadium in four home fixtures. That run has included heavy home defeats against Laverstock & Ford and Petersfield Town.
Josh Bailey leads the goalscoring charts for the Gunwharf-based outfit with six goals so far, with long-serving Luke Richards following closely behind him with five.
Quirke has Kash Kamara and Obi Saidy among his ranks, two former Baffins players, along with Nathan Ewins who enjoyed a stint with Rovers during pre-season last summer.
Last term, it was Bailey who struck two early goals for United Services, meaning Baffins had to bounce back – and so they did, with Jason Parish’s penalty and Dan Wood’s far post header securing a point in a 2-2 draw.
Tickets for the clash can only be purchased on the turnstiles and are priced £7 adults and £4 concessions. Can’t make the clash? Follow in-match updates on our X channel.
