Second-half substitute Tom Vincent netted a brace to earn Baffins back-to-back victories.

Danny Thompson made two changes to the side that won 3-1 at Portland United four days prior; latest addition Josh Rose started in defence, as Charlie Oakwell returned from suspension for the visit of the Islanders.

The first-half was a largely dull encounter, but Baffins had a chance to break the deadlock before half time. Ed Sanders rose highest to Steve Ramsey’s lofted corner, but his header was cleared off the line.

Rovers were temporarily reduced to ten-men as Tyler Giddings was sent into the sin-bin for ten minutes.

Baffins finally had a chance to go ahead when substitute Miles Everett was hacked down inside the box and his side were awarded a penalty - Ramsey stepped up and fired the ball into the bottom corner.

Just 60 seconds later, Baffins extended their lead as Harvey Wellham progressed inside the box and his whipped cross was converted by Vincent.

Liam Brewer - also emerging from the bench during the second-half - thought he had scored his first home goal for the club, only for the linesman’s flag to rule out his flicked header.

The match was secured as Everett’s cross found Vincent who poked the ball home from close-range.

Baffins: Hardcastle, Evans, Francis, Rose (Wellham 64), Giddings, Sanders, Oakwell (Everett 63), Ramsey, Parish (Parish 55), Robinson (Brewer 75), Paige (Fox 78).
