Liam Brewer comes off the bench to score on his league debut to secure three points at Cams Alders.

Danny Thompson handed a Baffins debut to Tyler Giddings, who signed on dual-registration terms from AFC Portchester.

The first-half was largely a stop-start affair with just a few chances between the two sides. Fareham won five corners early on as the hosts looked to asset some early pressure on the away side, but the Rovers defence stood strong.

Ryan Kennedy was forced off midway through the opening 45 minutes, with a suspected dislocated shoulder, meaning that a change in shape was needed for Thompson's side.

The hosts took the lead after 56 minutes as winger Charlie Cooper found space just inside the box and he angled an effort into the bottom corner. But, Fareham's lead lasted just 90 seconds as Tom Vincent was in the right place at the right time to tap home after an initial strike was parried.

Joe Johnson impressed as a substitute in the second-half, before Liam Brewer - who had been on the pitch for less than three minutes - struck the eventual winner. The ball was laid off to the young forward and Brewer picked out the far corner with a low strike.

Rovers saw out pressure at the end of the encounter, which included a last-gasp free-kick attempt, to secure three points.
