Kelvin Robinson is sent off as Baffins' eight-match unbeaten run comes to an end in Dorset.

It was Rovers who took the lead in the Wessex League encounter at a chilly Coppice Street - Obi Saidy struck his second goal of the campaign, converting from close-range after Charlie Oakwell’s flick on inside the box.

The away side thought they had won a penalty shortly before the break after Joe Johnson was pulled down inside the box, but the referee was unphased.

First-half goalscorer Saidy was forced off with an injury just minutes after the restart, before Shaftesbury were back on level terms. Ash Pope tucked home from a rebound after Roux Hardcastle’s low save.

Three minutes later, Baffins were down to ten men after a moment of madness from Kelvin Robinson saw him receive a straight red card by the referee.

Cameron Beard’s header saw the Rockies go into the lead on 72 minutes. The hosts’ skipper Asa Phillips netted four minutes from time to secure Shaftesbury victory in Dorset.

Baffins: Hardcastle, Evans, Francis, Saidy (Paige 48), Kennedy, Sanders (Ali 75), Wellham, Oakwell, Robinson, Everett (Brownlie 73), Johnson (Vincent 58). Subs not used: Binks
