Alpay Ali scores a last-gasp winner to earn Baffins their first points of the 2022/23 campaign.

Baffins secured their second home victory in four days by claiming their maiden Wessex Premier points of the campaign against Christchurch.

Baffins were made to bounce back from a goal down after Eder Batista steered his headed effort into the back of the net just before the half hour mark.

Dual-registered forward Tom Vincent ensured the match was levelled up shortly after the break. Captain Jason Parish saw his penalty saved by Harry Dillon, but the striker was in the right place to tuck home his sixth goal in all competitions this term.

Fifteen minutes from time, Brad Gale struck a volley into the bottom right corner from a cross to send Rovers into the lead - his second goal in as many matches after he netted against United Services in midweek.

The visitors thought they had stolen a point as Batista scored his second goal on the 90-minute mark, but Baffins restored the lead as Alpay Ali converted into an empty net after Parish’s header hit the post - securing a first three-point success of the new campaign.

Baffins: Hardcastle, Evans (Scammell 78), Francis, Paige (Wellham 54), Kennedy, Saidy, Everett (Gale 71), Oakwell (Brownlie 77), Parish, Vincent, Robinson (Ali 66).
